The Infinite Perfect Rock Paper Scissors Game

With the advent of RPS-101, a Rock-Paper-Scissors-like game with more than a hundred (a hundred and one, actually) gestures, humanity has been left asking if that is the limit. Well, I am happy to tell you, it isn't. I present to you, RPS-∞, the game with infinite gestures!

A round of RPS-∞ works like this:

  • The players both count aloud to three, each time raising one hand in a fist and swinging it down on their other palm on the count.
  • On the third count, each player makes whatever gesture they want, and names it ('Heat Death of the Universe', 'Strawberry Icecream', 'Wu-Tang Clan').
  • If both make the same gesture, it's a draw. Otherwise, they discuss what would be the most concise outcome to a match between both items (usually expressed in terms of X verbs Y)
  • If the last step ended in confusion or fisticuffs, it's a draw. Go for another round.
There are many strategies you are sure to find out with practice. Share the best ones here!

  • Surely everyone played this as a child? Excellent arguments. I still maintain that bomb beats everything else. Except wet fish, which extinguishes the fuse...

  • The problem is, before long anyone on the Internet will think of "Chuck Norris", which beats anything other than Chuck Norris with "Chuck Norris roundhouse-kicks Y."

  • bomb is denoted by a fist with the thumb sticking up slightly for the fuse.

  • Well, some clearly do beat others.

Or as our 2nd lt during boot did:

Recruit: Okay! I call shotgun on the ride down!

    2nd Lt: Rock Paper Scissors.

    Recruit: Okay, Rock Paper

2nd Lt: Star! I win *points to star that showed his rank*

(PS to other military types, this was using Norwegian insignia which differs from US by being better in every shape imaginable... :p)
